Day (United States of America)The Stroke Coordinator will be a Registered Professional Nurse who will establish relationships with all related physicians/professionals or other health related groups within the community. The Stroke coordinator will collaborate with the stroke/neuro-endovascular physicians, unit staff and other team members. This individual will perform oversight of the stroke program.

The Stroke Coordinator coordinates the interdepartmental process development and/or improvements (ED, Nursing Unit, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, VIR, Neurosurgery, and others) that impact the Stroke Program.

The Stroke Coordinator assists in the development, maintenance, and updating all AMC policies, procedures, orders sets, plans of care, teaching materials, and documentation as they relate to the Stroke Program in order to maintain compliance with regulatory standards such as the Joint Commission, NYS Department of Health, Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services, and the American Heart Association.

Salary: $54,846.00 - $87,754.00
  • The Stroke Coordinator provides expertise to interdepartmental planning, process development and/or improvements that serve to achieve overall goals of the organization as related to advancement of the Stroke Program.
  • The Stroke Coordinator acts as a clinical resource and educator for staff, patients, outside hospitals, EMS services, and the community.
  • The Stroke Coordinator communicates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure 24/7 capability of caring for acute stroke patients.
  • The Stroke Coordinator serves as a leader in the community for the creation and maintenance of a Comprehensive Stroke Program.
