Cadillac Products Automotive Company (CPAC) is in search of a solid Account Manager, with a decent background in Engineering & Automotive strongly preferred. Cadillac primarily produces plastics, foams, and acoustic products - any experience in related fields/product lines is a big plus here! You'll be joining a great team of four others in this department.
This position will be a 50/50 split between managing an existing book of business and developing new accounts:
- You'll be expected to maintain and grow some of our existing relationships with Automotive OEMs & Tier suppliers, Heavy Trucking brands, and Agriculture brands.
- We'll also look to you to work towards getting a foot in the door, secure RFQs and eventually land Purchase Orders for new accounts at OEMs, EV manufacturers, and any other brands/industries suitable to CPAC's product offerings.
- This is high-stakes, long-term sales. Bringing in even one new, sizable account in your first 6-12 months would be a huge success.
This position works out of the Main Office in Troy, MI. The core schedule is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, with a flexible Friday. It is very rare that there is any weekend work required of this role.
This position does have some travel expectations, estimated at 10-20% travel at the most. You will be expected to travel by plane for 1-2 night trips a few times a year, as well as day-trips driving to locations around Michigan from time to time.
Compensation for this position looks like:
- Base Salary of $80-100k
- Bonus/Commission Opportunity of $12-25k

Requirements for this position:
- Experience in large/corporate, B2B manufacturing sales processes
- Agriculture, Automotive, or other Industrial/Transportation Manufacturing experience
- Understanding of the RFQ/Sourcing process within these industries
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- This is a fairly technical sales position; an engineering degree, and experience in engineering, would be highly valuable for this role.
- Examples: Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
- Technical Detail Orientation
- Able to understand and accurately discuss technical requirements and details of the various components and parts within the CPAC family of product lines
- Ability to look at prints or 3D models, accurately review and discuss technical specifications
- Communication Skills - You must be able communicate via a range of mediums, to both a range of Client-side and internal points of contact
- Text, Email, Phone, Video calls
- Competent use of both Teams and WhatsApp is helpful
- Example points of contact: Engineers, Project Managers, Production Management, Upper Management, C-Suite/Executives
- Communicate confidently, effectively and thoroughly with all of the above
- Software, Tools:
- This job will mostly use Plex (our ERP system), Excel, and the basic Microsoft Suite
- Experience with Networking/Lead Generation
- You will be fed some leads and opportunities initially, but you will be expected over time to develop and pursue your own leads through various avenues
